These Terms govern your membership in MEANS (Mu Sigma Alpha Nu Delta) and your use of wemeansbusiness.com. Please read them — by joining or using the site, you agree to them.
MEANS (Mu Sigma Alpha Nu Delta) is a business fraternity — part brotherhood, part incubator — focused on developing its members and supporting member business opportunities. In these Terms, “MEANS,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean MEANS (Mu Sigma Alpha Nu Delta), which operates wemeansbusiness.com. “You” means the person using the Site or holding a membership.
By creating an account, purchasing a membership, joining our mailing list, or otherwise using wemeansbusiness.com (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or purchase a membership.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to hold a membership or create an account. Membership is granted at our discretion to individuals who meet our membership criteria, and we may decline or revoke membership consistent with these Terms and applicable law.
You agree that the information you give us — including your name and email address — is accurate, and that you will keep it current.
Membership is offered at the following recurring rates:
| Tier | Monthly | Annual |
|---|---|---|
| Founding Member | $1.00 / month | $10.00 / year |
| Founding Circle | $10.00 / month | $100.00 / year |
Automatic renewal. Memberships are recurring subscriptions. Unless you cancel first, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly plans renew every month, annual plans renew every year — and the payment method on file is charged the then-current rate for your tier. You may cancel at any time (see Cancellation).
You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period, and you keep member access until then. Either method works:
Membership fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Cancelling stops future charges rather than refunding the current period, and you keep member access through the end of the period you already paid for.
If something went wrong — a duplicate charge, a billing error, or a charge after you cancelled — email enwashingtonjr@gmail.com and we will make it right.
The Site lets members post updates to the member feed and submit business ideas (“Member Content”).
Anything you submit to the ideas board is visible to every logged-in member. Submitting a business idea does not create a confidential relationship, a non-disclosure agreement, or any partnership, joint venture, or investment relationship between you and MEANS or any other member.
Do not submit trade secrets or anything you need to keep confidential. If you have an idea that requires protection, speak with your own attorney before sharing it.
MEANS does not claim ownership of your idea. We also cannot promise that other members will not independently develop something similar, and we are not responsible for how other members use information you choose to share.
You agree not to:
MEANS provides community, education, and connections. It does not provide professional services, and nothing on the Site is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your situation.
The member library and feed link to third-party websites, videos, books, and programs that we do not own or control. We provide them for convenience and education. We do not endorse them, guarantee their accuracy or availability, and are not responsible for their content, products, or privacy practices. Your use of a third-party site is governed by that site’s terms.
The MEANS name, the Mu Sigma Alpha Nu Delta name and Greek letters as used by us, the MEANS crest and wordmark, and the text, design, and graphics of the Site are owned by MEANS or licensed to us. You may not copy, modify, or use them to identify your own goods, services, or organization, or in any way that suggests affiliation or endorsement, without our written permission. Members may truthfully reference their membership.
You may stop using the Site at any time and cancel as described above. We may suspend or terminate your account or membership if you breach these Terms, if your payment fails, or if we reasonably believe your conduct harms MEANS, its members, or a third party. Where reasonable and lawful, we will give you notice and an opportunity to fix the problem. If we terminate your membership without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Your content (as to licenses already granted), Intellectual property, Disclaimers, Limitation of liability, Indemnification, and Disputes — will survive.
THE SITE AND MEMBERSHIP ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that content will be accurate or current. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEANS AND ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, AND VOLUNTEERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE OR YOUR MEMBERSHIP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SITE OR YOUR MEMBERSHIP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
We are not responsible for the conduct of other members, whether online or in person, or for any business dealing, investment, or agreement you enter into with another member. Do your own due diligence.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MEANS and its officers, members, and volunteers from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising out of your Member Content, your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of the rights of another person.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which MEANS is based, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Let us talk first. Before filing anything, please email enwashingtonjr@gmail.com describing the problem. Most issues can be resolved quickly and informally.
Nothing here prevents you from bringing a claim in small-claims court, or from reporting a matter to a government agency.
We may update these Terms as MEANS grows. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. If a change is material — for example, a change to fees or to your rights — we will give you reasonable advance notice by email or through the member portal. Continuing to use the Site or keeping your membership after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
